Your baby is now around 30cm long (crown to rump) and weighs roughly 2kg1.
Despite all of the kicks and punches you may be feeling in the third trimester, your baby is actually sleeping for 90% of the time whilst his brain continues to develop at its rapid pace1.
Nesting is not just for birds and it is not just an old wives’ tale. As your due date approaches you may feel strong urges to make sure the nursery is painted and you have all of the baby equipment you need.
Whilst this is a harmless and very common feeling, try not to let yourself feel overwhelmed or stressed if your to-do list is not finished. There will be time once the baby is born to buy anything you need; especially now all of your shopping needs are just a click away.
If you are still working and don’t have much time, or simply feeling exhausted by the strains of your pregnancy, then there is no need to buy all of your baby equipment before your baby is born. All you will need in the early days are:
- A cot/Moses basket and bedding1
- Vests, sleepsuits, cardigan, and hat1
- Nappies1
- Car seat1
- Pram1
