What is autoimmune disease?
Allergy expert, Dr Peter Saul likens autoimmune diseases to friendly fire, a military term describing disasters that occur when the military mistakenly attack their own side.
With autoimmune disease the body creates antibodies against itself by mistake. This causes inflammation and a whole range of conditions known as autoimmune.
