I hope you share your thoughts and opinions with me and lets help to change the face of medical education for the better.Lawrence Sherman, Welcome to my Blog
Hey. I’m Lawrence Sherman, senior vice president for educational strategy at Prova Education, a U.S.-based provider of medical education for health care professionals around the world.
I’m putting this blog together because I think it’s really important that everyone think about what their role is in educating health care professionals. I’m interested in what you have to say about it; what you think about it. I’m going to tell you a lot about what I think, but I may not be right. You may have some great ideas and opinions and I want you to share them with me. But I’m certainly going to share what I have to say with you. I’m going to tell you what I do and what I think best practices are.
I’m going to share with you what other organisations are doing that I think really is changing the face of medical education around the world. I’m going to tell you what I think works and what doesn’t work. I want really to move the bar from what we used to do to what we’re currently doing to what we should be doing. And the only way to do that is to push the envelope, right?
We want to make sure that education is based on the needs of the health care professionals, the needs of the patients and how we watch them intersect.
So, this blog, over the next few weeks, months, years; however long they choose to leave me on (and it’s not in my hands; it’s in your hands) will really touch upon issues that may make you uncomfortable. But we don’t grow without a little discomfort, do we?
So, as we go through the journey of medical education, from the health care professionals’ perspective, from the patients’ perspective, and from that intersection, we’re going to touch on some really dicey topics, and your input is valuable.
So, with that said, I hope you enjoy the show.
